COLLEGE INFORMATION

The Ursula Frayne Library is a welcoming, modern and spacious facility which promotes up-to-date and wide ranging curriculum support for the entire college community.

 

Marist Technology Centre. This facility is used for metal and wood fabrication. The computer graphics laboratory is used during the planning and design of projects.

 

The Brother Ray Martin Centre for Excellence in Hospitality and Food Technology consists of two kitchens, a restaurant and lecture theatre designed to meet the needs of the school and industry.

 

The Mercy Music Centre enabling students from across all year levels to actively participate in our extensive music program. Individual music tuition is available or students may choose to join the College Choir, Stage Band or Orchestra.

 

The Mercy Centennial Stadium provides first class facilities for the College's extensive physical education and sporting programs.

 

Common Rooms and Kitchen Facilities are provided for the senior students (Years 10-12) of the College.

 

The Sister Ignatious Starkie Hall is a great venue for classroom drama performance, public speaking evenings and musical recitals.

 

Access to up to date Computer Technology including online facilities, the Internet and email.

STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

An effective and compassionate Pastoral Care program, with qualified Welfare personnel.

The Career's Centre with computer facilities, and a highly skilled Careers Advisor.

A Work Experience Program offered to all Year 10 students and Year 11 and 12 students on request.

A Community Service Program which allows students interaction with various groups and organisations outside the College.

Vocational Education Programs that enable Year 10, 11 and 12 students to combine Industry and TAFE qualifications with their VCE studies.

A Learning Enrichment Program, which provides assistance to students with special needs both on an individual and group basis.

ASSOCIATED BODIES

Parents' and Friends' Association

The objectives of the Parents' and Friends' Association are:

    • To help create an environment of mutual support, co-operation and friendship among the school community.
    • To assist in the provision of amenities for the College.
    • To assist in the conduct of function and activities associated with the College.

Membership of the Association is open to all parents of students and all other persons who agree to work towards the objectives of the Association.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop is open each Tuesday (12:30am to 5:30pm) and Friday (12.30pm to 2.00pm) (excluding holidays). Students and parents are most welcome to call and purchase any item of clothing required. All items of uniform - except boys long trousers, shoes, short socks, and girls shoes - are supplied from the College Shop.

Canteen

The College employs a manager to run the canteen, which is open at recess and lunchtime for all students. Items are reasonably priced and any profits are used by the Parents' and Friends' Association for the benefit of the College.

Sporting Teams

The Parents' and Friends' Association is enthusiastically involved in the organisation of our sporting clubs which include:

 

    • City Notre Dame Netball Club which enters teams in the Shepparton Netball Association.
    • Notre Dame College Cricket Club - Students are able to play with the College cricket teams in the Shepparton Junior Cricket Association.
    • Notre Dame College Football Club - Plays in the Goulburn Valley Competition Football League and is run by parents.
    • Notre Dame College Badminton Club which plays in the Shepparton Junior Badminton Association.
