Bula from Napuka.......

Our last few days in Karoka were sepnt in the classroom. We tiled one of the classroom floor with vinyl tiles.

We worked with the local lads from the Karoko Youth Club who made out job very easy and social. The floor came up a treat!

Our final day in Karoko saw the NDC students be partnered up with one of the local youths and here they spent the day with them in their

village. A great experience for all. Thew teachers had a very special luncheoun with the staff and mothers of the schol on Friday.

The last few days a tradition of our own began where we were spent singing and dancing after every meal which we all enjoyed very much!

We made the move across here to Napuka last Saturday after a fairly emotional farewell at Karoka.

We all have many stories and many friends from our time in Karoko where we had been made feel very much at home....

We have been opnce again made feel very welcome here in Napuka.

It started Saturday night when there was a dance and the local students performed for us a variety of traditional and modern dances

We humbly reciprocated by performing our version of Advance Australia Fair, We Are One ( we were slightly better than the origianl version by Judith Durham!!!!) and Waltzing Matilda

Yesterday (Sunday) we had a very lazy, social and fun day in and out of the water. The beach is only about 30m from where we have pitched our tents...

Today the students have been paired up and are moving around the classrooms with a local teacher and meeting the students of Napuka Junior Secondary!

Rest assured we are missing you all BUT having a most marvellous time.......

We took the 5 hour trip to Karoko yesterday in the back of the truck and arrived safely last night. The students have made heaps of friends with the locals and it was all hands on deck with our luggage and tent set-up! We had a traditional Fijian ceremony with some representatives of the chief of the village last night at Seymour's house (Superman). I'm just with a few of the students back at SavuSavu today buying some supplies to start tiling the classrooms back at Karoko. Rachel & Chalks are well, and all of the students who are touring the area today. We'll keep you posted in a couple more days. We're off to catch the bus back to Karoko very shortly.
PS - We've had some rain but today is a beautiful sunny day.

BULA!!!!

We have arrived safely in Savu Savu. We all a little bit tired but enjoying every moment of our time here. on the plane flight over Red Symonds was on our plane and had a long conversation with Jia. which he seemed to enjoy a lot. Then at the Nadi airport Grace, Jia, Jess and Shannon saw Jo from the Star FM radio station.

We experienced a Fijian lunch in a little cafe. We had chicken fried rice and chicken curry. We have already met people who know of us and know people from the schools we are visiting which makes it all a bit more exciting. The weathers nice. Little bit overcast but still shorts and t shirts. We have met Johnny the principal of Napuka. He met us in town this morning. Going to have an early night tonight because we have a long truck drive from Savu Savu to Karoko which will take us about 6 hours!!

We not feeling home sick yet.
