A 4-day hike along The Great Ocean Hiking Trail.

The Students from 11OES started just outside of Apollo Bay and finished at Castle Cove, a trek of over 60 kilometres!

An amazing effort by all.

Students were fantastic and had plenty of interaction with Koalas!

Year 12 VCE-VM Literacy Students Bring Learning to Life

Recently Mrs. Brown’s Year 12 VCE-VM Literacy class wrapped up an exciting group project that brought learning well beyond the classroom. Their task was to design, build, plan, and present a project of their choice to a Year 8 class—an opportunity to apply real-life skills such as communication, teamwork, planning, problem-solving, conducting meetings, and sourcing materials.

The students chose to create a life-sized version of the classic game Guess Who. They contacted local businesses for donated supplies, coordinated with staff to find participants, and collaborated closely with the media team to bring their project to life.

One aspect Mrs. Brown particularly loved was seeing students step up and let their leadership skills shine. The project gave students the chance to take initiative, delegate tasks, and work towards a shared goal with confidence and creativity.

The final result? A fun, interactive session full of laughter, energy, and engagement—enjoyed equally by the Year 12s and the Year 8s.

One student summed it up perfectly: “It was so much fun, and it was organised really well.”
