The Advisory Council is constituted on behalf of the College Community, to work with the College.
It actively promotes and supports the Catholic Identity of the College and its Mercy and Marist traditions.

The Notre Dame College Advisory Council:
- Provides a voice for members of the school community.
- Actively supports, in collaboration with the local parish, the vision, and Catholic identity of the College.
- Provides input into and supports strategic planning and directions.
- Provides input and contributes advice in the processes of school improvement and school review.
- Supports the Principal in meeting his/her responsibilities and accountabilities for educational outcomes, effective stewardship of resources, and annual reporting.
- Actively supports the Principal in the encouragement of parent/guardian engagement.
- Supports the ongoing sustainability of the Council and its members in its succession and learning.
