National Careers Week

This week, Notre Dame College proudly celebrated National Careers Week with a range of inspiring activities designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and support students in navigating their future pathways.

Our Careers Team was at the forefront of this initiative, creating opportunities across year levels to highlight the importance of career education and planning. Some of the key highlights included:

🎨 The Colour Wall Display – Located in the forecourt, this vibrant installation features 169 emerging and in-demand careers, each with information on growth prospects and task alignment. Students were encouraged to explore the wall during breaks, using it as a visual guide to understand the breadth of opportunities available in today’s workforce. The display will remain for a few more weeks — we encourage families to visit it together.

💬 Career Conversations – Our team facilitated dozens of individual student appointments throughout the week, helping students unpack their interests, strengths, and subject choices. Discussions ranged from vocational education and university planning to apprenticeships, early entry programs, and the changing world of work.

🧠 Focus on Emerging Industries – Throughout the week, we shared information on growing fields in health, sustainability, agriculture, tech, innovation, and customer experience – helping students understand how their passions can align with future job markets.

💻 Career Education Resources – Students were also introduced to resources from Study Work Grow, including the Career Cluster Quiz, and access to industry insights tailored to each student’s personal strengths and preferences.

We thank all students and staff for their engagement throughout the week and encourage families to continue the career conversation at home. The Careers Hub remains open for bookings, and we welcome students across all year levels to connect with us any time.
