As Term 1 comes to an end, it’s a good opportunity to reflect on what has been a settled and productive start to the year. Our students have engaged positively in their learning, have taken part in a range of activities, and contributed to the wider life of the College through camps, sport carnivals, and community events.

A particular highlight this term has been the way our Year 7 students have settled into the College. Transitioning to a new environment is a significant step, and our Year 7s have handled it with maturity and enthusiasm. They have established strong routines, engaged well in classes, and built new friendships. Their participation in transition activities and the Year 7 camp supported them in developing confidence and a sense of belonging. We are proud of the way they have embraced secondary school life and look forward to continuing to support them as they grow through the year.

Thank you to our families for the consistent support you provide. The encouragement you offer at home and your engagement with College life have had a positive impact on students’ learning and wellbeing. We value the partnership we share and appreciate the trust you place in us to guide your children each day.

I also acknowledge the commitment and hard work of our staff. Throughout Term 1 they have planned engaging lessons, supported student wellbeing, and created opportunities for students to experience success both inside and outside the classroom. Through the Magnify initiative, teachers have taken on new routines and explicit teaching practices. Our PAT data is showing some very encouraging improvements, particularly in year 8 maths.

As we move into the Easter break, I encourage all students and families to take time to rest and reset. Easter reminds us of renewal, hope, and the importance of taking a pause. I hope the break provides a chance for reflection and time spent with families.
