The Triduum has begun!

Today we begin the Triduum which is the central and most sacred period in the Catholic liturgical year.

The word Triduum comes from the Latin meaning “three days” and refers to the time from the evening of Holy Thursday through Good Friday and Holy Saturday, culminating in the celebration of Easter Sunday. Rather than being three separate events, the Triduum is understood as one continuous journey that remembers Jesus’ Last Supper, His suffering and death on the Cross, and His Resurrection. These days invite us to pause, reflect deeply, and enter more fully into the mystery of God’s love made visible through Jesus.

For our faith community at Notre Dame College, the Triduum is an especially important time to reconnect with the heart of our Catholic Identity. It reminds students, staff and families that our faith is centred on love, service, sacrifice and hope. Holy Thursday calls us to serve others as Jesus did, Good Friday invites us to reflect on compassion and forgiveness, and Easter celebrates new life and renewal. As a school community, may we be encouraged to live out Gospel values in our daily relationships and to walk together in faith, gratitude, and hope as we prepare for the joy of Easter.
