After winning the GMD & Hume Region Carnivals played earlier this year, the teams' results from their Pool Group games at the Championships were as follows:
Round 1 – NDC 0 drew Ilim College Glenroy 0
Round 2 – NDC 3 def Ballarat HS 0
Round 3 – NDC 3 def St Augustine’s Kyabram 0
These results saw the team finish on top of their Group, progressing through to the Grand Final against the historically strong Rowville Sports Academy.
Neither team gave an inch in defence and at the end of the 30 minute game, the scores were nil-all. So extra five minute halves were played to separate the scorelines.
In the last-minute, Rowville found the smallest hole in our defence to slot the winner in what was an extremely high standard game, befitting of a State Grand Final.
Well done boys!
School Champs Finals Day
Yesterday, the Senior Girls headed to Melbourne to compete in Netball Victoria’s School Championships Finals Day.
After earning their spot from the preliminary rounds, they were set to face the rest of the best from around the state.
The girls finished equal 4th in their pool with two great wins and four losses, some of those games being close. Despite this, they challenged teams that went on to play in the grand final, showcasing that they can match it with the best.
All girls who featured today have been a part of the Sports Academy Program over the past few years. So great to see this pathway in action at the state level.
