Staff Spirituality Day

Last Wednesday, our Notre Dame College staff joined with staff from St Brendan’s Primary School and St Luke’s Primary School to participate in our annual Staff Spirituality Day.

Through a mixture of online workshops and face to face workshops we all explored the theme of ‘Living Life to the Full.’ We first heard from keynote presenter Bishop Tim Norton SVD from Broome who reminded us all that being on mission is a gift because we are not masters of God’s mission but stewards of the Gospel message and that the Gospel message is enduring good news for all people, in all times and in all contexts.

A mixture of workshops were then available for staff to participate in including exploring the history of the Sisters of Mercy, engaging in a Marist way of Prayer and focusing on recontextualising within our Catholic identity. One of the online workshops was presented by well known author and journalist Stan Grant who encouraged everyone to focus on living the small life of service, gratitude and faith. Stan spoke about the importance of our own identities along with the importance of silence in our world.

It was a wonderful opportunity to gather with colleagues and new friends, to spend time exploring our faith journeys and to be spiritually nourished in our varied roles across our schools. Please continue to pray for all those involved in Catholic education across Shepparton.

Keeping the chaos holy,

Brendan Lindsay - Deputy Principal Catholic Identity
