Notre Dame College Outstanding Athlete Awards

The Notre Dame College Outstanding Athlete Awards, proudly sponsored by the Marist Basketball Club, is presented to two students each semester who demonstrate good role model behaviour, commitment to academic performance, embrace the NDC values and have outstanding results in the NDC Sports Academy Program and/or when representing NDC at Inter School Sport.

The 2026 Semester One winners were as follows:

Academy- Will Linnett- Year 9

Will has shown a strong commitment to improving in all aspects of the Sports Academy Program across 2026. He has continued to push himself in the strength and conditioning sessions, which have helped him achieve great success on the hockey field this year, as he has recently been selected for the Victorian State Under-15 team. He has upheld the NDC values as well as the Sports Academy values of Kindness, Encouragement and Commitment. We look forward to seeing you continue to grow in the program in 2026. Well done, Will.

Sports- Mitchell Jones – Year 9

Mitchell has represented Notre Dame College in various interschool sports, having been involved in our Super 8s Cricket and Basketball Teams throughout his schooling years, as well as representing his House in Swimming and Athletics. Mitchell has also demonstrated the school values and ran a full marathon (42.2km) during the Salvation Army North East Youth Services 'Miles From Home' event at the 2026 Under the Same Stars Youth Homelessness Fundraiser. Mitchell not only ran the full marathon but also raised $794 for the Salvation Army. Well done, Mitchell.
