Congratulations to our Year 12 students on their valedictory week last week. We shared a number of special events with them and their families to celebrate the end of their secondary school years as you have no doubt seen on our socials or were part of yourselves.
This year, we made some changes to the timeline of events, holding the valedictory ceremony in this week rather than after VCE exams conclude at the end of November. By doing this, our non-scored VCE students and VM students have been able to get started on their next phase of employment or apprenticeships.
Additionally, this has allowed our VCE teachers to focus solely on preparing the students who are sitting exams. For these students, we are running normal timetabled classes up until October 24, and then their VCE teachers will still be available until the subject exam has occurred.
Last week, we had four senior staff from Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited visit us and give us some valuable feedback on our implementation of the Magnify initiatives. They were certainly impressed by our calm classrooms, clear learning intentions and the welcome they received from our students and staff.
As we continue to embed teaching practices based on the science of learning, I would encourage parents to view the recorded information sessions from Jared Cooney Horvath that we are sharing this week and next, along with one we are sharing through our social platforms. With the warmer weather now upon us, all students should be in summer uniform and wearing their College hat when outside at recess and lunchtime.
Enjoy the week,
