ATHLETICS

NDC students competed at the Goulburn Murray Division Athletics Carnival on 3 September in Shepparton. NDC finished 1st in the Female Champions Aggregate, 2nd in the Males Champions Aggregate and 2nd in the Overall Schools Championship.

The following students had outstanding results to finish in the top two of the Age Group Champions awards:

  • 13 Yr Female: 1st Giaan Williamson
  • 2nd Ava Giles
  • 13 Yr Male: 1st Dion Clarke
  • 14 Yr Female: 1st Charlee Kennedy
  • 14 Yr Male: 2nd Sidney Nihill & James Kelly
  • 15 Yr Male: 1st Lucas O’Hora
  • 16 Yr Male: 2nd Noah Williams
  • 17 Yr Male: 1st Zac Bathman, 2nd Ashton Young
  • 20 Yr Female: 1st Fiorina Iaria, 2nd Holly Egan
  • 20 Yr Male: 2nd Jett Bruton

Jack Gospel & Isla Shaw ran scintillating times in the 1500m events to break long standing records:

  • Jack – 4.15:00 for the 17yo Boys 1500m; previous record 4.20:85 held since 1998
  • Isla – 5.41:13 for the 14yo Girls 1500m; previous record 5.43:31 held since 2014

Students to finish in the top two of their events will go through to the Hume Region Carnival in Albury on 10 October.

SOCCER

After winning the Goulburn Murray Division & Hume Region Carnivals held earlier this year, NDCs Senior Soccer team competed at the School Sport Victoria State Championships held in Melbourne on 12 September. The team won one game and lost two to finish 5th in the State. The results were as follows:

· Round 1: Rowville SC 2 def NDC 1

· Round 2: NDC 2 def Lavalla Catholic College Traralgon 0

· Round 3: Williamstown HS 1 def NDC 0

Best players were Xavier Black, Josh Reid & Orlando Bevilacqua.
