North East Zone Inter School Clay Target Competition

On Thursday 13 August, our Clay Target Shooting Team competed at the North East Zone Championships at the Colbinabbin Shooting Range.

A nice winters day with lots of targets hit by the NDC shooters! Congratulations to Jack Emanuelli who won the Junior Boys section with a score of 17 hits from 20 shots, which means he now moves through to the Inter School Clay Target State Championships.

Other NDC students to score well were Bailey Blackledge, who finished 3rd in the Senior Boys category with 17/20, Liam Treble who lost the “shot-off” for 3rd place after having a score of 17/20, Blake Doyle 15/20, Ollie Laws with 14/20 and Bailey Chenery with 13/20.

Congratulations to all of our 20 NDC students who represented NDC so well.

Football

After dominating at the GMD & Hume Carnivals held earlier this year, several of our football teams competed at the SSV State Finals in Melbourne over the last week.

The results were as follows:

Year 7

Quarter Final : NDC 10.10.70 def Koo Wee Rup SC 5.9.39

Semi Final : NDC 6.3.39 def by Rowville SC 13.5.83

Best players - Sol Zak, Sidney Nihill, Noah Sabri, Kobe Freer, Nate Warrin, Lennix Mellington & Jack Hudson.

Year 11/12

Quarter Final : NDC 9.9.63 def Parkdale SC 7.11.53

Semi Final: NDC 7.4.46 def by Lowanna SC 11.15.81

Best players - Blake Sofra, Kodi Still, Liam Sofra, Rory Hearn, Cody Montgomery, Jayden Thorne.

Badminton

After winning the GMD Badminton Carnival held in May, our Year 7 Girls competed at the Hume Region Carnival in Shepparton on 19 August.

The results were as follows:

Round 1 – NDC 5 matches def Seymour SC 1 match

Round 2 – NDC 3 matches/109 points def All Saints College Shepparton 3 matches/102 points

Round 3 – Victory Lutheran College Wodonga 4 matches def NDC 2 matches

The team finished 2nd - well done to our Year 7 girls!
