Year 7 Health and PE Water Safety at Aquamoves

Last week, our Year 7 Health & PE classes enjoyed an excursion to Aquamoves for a practical session focused on water safety, survival skills, and basic swimming techniques.

The program aimed to build confidence and awareness around water. Students participated in practical activities including water safety skills, freestyle and survival strokes, dry-land rescue techniques such as reach and throw rescues, and CPR practice using manikins.

The Aquamoves team delivered an engaging and relevant program that provided students with valuable life skills for a range of aquatic environments.

This excursion was part of the Year 7 Risk Taking curriculum unit.

We thank parents and guardians for supporting this important learning experience.

Year 11 Physical Education

As part of their Unit 2 studies on contemporary issues in sport and physical activity Year 11 VCE PE students participated in a wheelchair basketball session at Shepparton Stadium run by Simon Fox from Goulburn Valley Gangarru Parasports with assistance from Judeline Flores, and Jasmin Flores.

Students learnt the basics of using a basketball wheelchair, the rules of the game and the key basketball skills and put these into action in an exciting game.

Many thanks to Simon, Judeline and Jasmin for running the session.
