This coming Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King which reminds us that Jesus is not only the Good Shepherd who walks with us but also the sovereign Lord of all creation.

In a world often marked by competing powers and shifting values, this celebration calls us to re-centre our lives on Christ’s eternal kingdom—a kingdom of truth, justice, and peace. Jesus is a king whose focus is not about domination or earthly power; rather, it is focused on love and service.

This feast also challenges us to reflect on how we embody Christ’s kingship in our daily lives.

Do we allow His truth to guide our decisions? Do we work for justice and peace in our communities? How do we as a Notre Dame Community honour Christ as king?

As we celebrate this day, we are invited to surrender our pride, ambitions, and fears, placing them under His gentle rule. In doing so, we become witnesses to a kingdom that is not of this world but is already breaking into it through acts of mercy, forgiveness, and hope in line with our own Mercy and Marist values.
