Zandar Gooiker
Zandar Gooiker, Year 11 Notre Dame College student is about to embark on an iconic off-road desert race in the Northern Territory in the next few weeks.
In June, Zandar will compete in the 2026 Tatts Finke Desert Race, marking 50 years of this historic event. The race celebrates half a century of speed, endurance, and outback adventure. Spanning over 460 kilometres from Alice Springs to Aputula (Finke) and back, this legendary race challenges riders and drivers to conquer some of the toughest terrain in the country.
Zandar has been training hard and although he has had his fair share of injuries over time, he is determined to do well in his category. He thanks his parents for getting him to many events over the past few years; his love of motorcross and long distance riding sees him competing against the best in the country.
