Badminton

50 students represented NDC at the Year 9-12 GMD Badminton Tournament on 16 May. The following teams won their Grand Final:

  • Year 11/12 Boys : 3 sets / 105 points def Greater Shepp SC 3 sets / 92 points
  • Year 9/10 Girls : 5 sets def Greater Shepp SC 1 set

Both teams now progress through to the Hume Region Carnival on 22 July.

Gymnastics

After competing and qualifying at the State Trials in Windsor three weeks prior, Year 7 student Sophie Pritchard and Year 9 student Summa Sidebottom represented Jets Gymnastics at the Senior Victorian Gymnastics Championships over the weekend.

The event was held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, and attended by the best gymnasts from across Victoria.

Sophie competed in Level 8, Summa in Level 9. Summa was crowned State Champion on floor for Level 9, and Sophie placed 2nd on floor in Level 8. Sophie’s team also placed 4th in the state. Both girls are dedicated to their sport, training 16 hours per week.

Congratulations Sophie and Summa, we know how hard you work and are very proud of your achievements!

Sports Academy News

Welcome Home Tom!

We are extremely excited to announce that Tom Clurey has been appointed as Head of AFL for our Sports Academy program.

Tom is a past student of Notre Dame College and has recently returned home after spending the last 13 years on Port Adelaide’s list.

Tom brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise that he is looking forward to passing on to all of our AFL athletes over the coming months and years ahead.

We wish Tom all the very best in his new role.
