A couple of weeks ago, we shared a guide about device habits at home. If you've tried any of it, we want to say: thank you. And if it's been a little bumpy — that's completely normal, and you're not alone.
Change is harder when you're the only adult in the room enforcing it. Teenagers are persistent, and devices are designed to be hard to put down. The first few weeks are often the most friction-filled.
Please find below the resource for weeks 2-3.
The eSafety Commissioner have an Online Safety Parent guide that provides practical ways for
you to support your child to have more positive online experiences.
The guide will help you:
We hope by sharing these resources you feel better equipped to have open and positive conversations with your child or young person.

Is your child interested in being baptised in the Catholic Church?
A number of students at Notre Dame College have recently expressed an interest in becoming Catholic and receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. In response, the College will be offering faith formation sessions to help students prepare for Baptism through St Brendan’s Parish.
Families who wish for their child to be baptised in another Catholic parish are also welcome to participate in the preparation process, and we will work with you to support these arrangements where possible.
If your child is interested in being baptised, or if you would like further information about the preparation program, please contact:
Mr Brendan Lindsay
Deputy Principal Catholic Identity

We warmly encourage families to reach out with any questions about Baptism or the Catholic faith.
We look forward to accompanying interested students on this important step in their faith journey.

CLICK HEREAs I’m sure most of you know, I was the selected representative for the inaugural National Youth Parliament 2026 as the Youth Member for Nicholls, the great electorate we all reside in today. Alongside 149 other Youth Members, drawn from all corners of the nation, we spent 5 days in and out of Parliament House and the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House). Together, we debated on two bills, which were:
The Artificial Intelligence (Transparency, Education and Safety) Bill 2026
Intergenerational Fairness Commissioner Bill 2026
And I also spoke on an electoral matter, referred to as an Adjournment Speech.
Not to mention the chair of our Parliament was Tony Smith, the 30th Speaker of the House from 2015-2021!
The debates went over two days, and I raised the concern of the Toolamba bridge with the Intergenerational Fairness Commissioner bridge, and how a Commissioner would be able to deliver the resources and hear the needs that farmers in a region are calling for. I spoke on how milk tankers coming from over the river would take half the time to reach towns like Toolamba if the bridge was in sufficient condition. And the chamber’s response: “Hear hear!”
In my adjournment speech, I raised the issue of medical misogyny. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to finish, but I 100% got the point across, and was able to quote Julia Gillard. I discussed how women’s medical concerns are stereotyped, misdiagnosed, and simply ignored, and that there are a number of women here in Nicholls who have dealt with the misogyny themselves. And again, “hear hear!”.
Apart from the debates, the National Youth Parliament was truly an experience like no other. Monday the 17th was the official opening ceremony of the Parliament. We all got to stand under the Australian flag, the same size as the one that flies, and were officially announced by Her Excellency the Governor General Sam Mostyn and The Speaker of the House Milton Dick. Cameras were in corners, MPs surrounded and, most importantly, the 150 Youth Members were officially the members of the inaugural National Youth Parliament.
The experience was monumentally life changing. Everyone I met had their own perspectives on issues and sincerely cared about our future generations. The stories I heard were simply remarkable - their journeys through politics and the active change they’re currently making. The program inevitably inspired me, inspired me to push myself to make change, to be the difference and to bring those ideas to the table. Because it isn’t everyday you’re selected to debate, collaborate, and present on the big stage.

On Thursday 15 October, our Year 11 Biology students attended the Melbourne Zoo. Students participated in an Education Workshop linked to their Unit 2 Biology Course work.
Topics included collecting data in the Butterfly House, learning about the Southern Corroboree Frog Conservation and the adaptations of various other animals of their own choice.
A fantastic day out for our Unit 2 Biology students!
A special thanks to Year 11 Student Tiby Boby Thomas who assisted in taking photos of this excursion.
Notre Dame College is extremely proud of our students who have reached a total of $2,189 in donations for Shepparton Foodshare!
$1,760 was raised from the Year 12 Charity Ball, whilst Crane and Kennedy houses raised $420 from two barbecues. The Crane and Kennedy food drive also saw 153kgs of food collected and donated to Foodshare!
Pictured here is Dee Healey - Chief Executive Officer of Shepparton Foodshare, receiving the incredible donation.
Shepparton Foodshare has donated over 5.5 million kilograms of food, or the equivalent of 11 million meals to people experiencing food insecurity in the Goulburn Valley and beyond. Our students contribution will be part of this incredible statistic!
Fantastic effort, we love seeing our students making a positive impact in our community!
