Hume Region Athletics Carnival

40 NDC students competed at the Hume Region Athletics Carnival on 10 October in Albury. NDC finished 3rd in the Schools Aggregate Champions Award – a great effort against some very strong opposition, so well done to all the students for contributing to this fantastic team result.

Students who finished top 2 in the 1500m or 3000m events or won any other event have qualified for the School Sport Victoria State Athletics Championships in Melbourne on 20 October. Results from these Championships will be included in next weeks' Newsletter.

13 NDC students competed at the Inter School Clay Target Shooting competition at the Benalla Field & Game Range on 13 October.

NDC students best individual results were as follows:

- Jordan Sagoleo 22 hits from 30 shots

- Bailey Blackledge 21 hits from 30 shots

- Bailey Chenery on 21 hits from 30 shots

GMD Inter School Sport

On 15 October, over 350 Year 7 & 8 students represented Notre Dame College in a variety of sports - Super 8’s, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Lawn Bowls - at the GMD Inter School Sport Carnivals.

It was a successful and fun-filled day for all. The following teams won their respective Sport/Age Group Carnival and progress through to the Hume Region Carnivals which are held over the coming months:

  • Table Tennis – Year 7 Girls; Year 8 Girls
  • Tennis - Year 7 Girls; Year 7 Boys; Year 8 Boys
  • Volleyball – Year 7 Boys; Year 8 Girls
  • Cricket – Year 7 Boys

Inter House Sport Grand Finals

After playing a round robin competition throughout Term 3, the Year 7/8 Inter House Sport Grand Finals were played last week. In very entertaining games, watched by big & boisterous crowds, Mungovan proved the dominate House winning all trophies up for grabs!!

The results were as follows:

  • Girls Basketball: Mungovan 47 defeated Crane 11
  • Boys Basketball: Mungovan 24 defeated MacKillop 23
  • Girls Netball: Mungovan 15 defeated Jennings 7
