Last week of Term 2 - first week of Semester 2.

A sincere thanks to our families for your support of our student free day last Friday. We were able to work in our professional learning teams to put the theory of the neuroscience of learning into practical strategies across all our learning areas. We also spent time on our migration from Google Classrooms to Microsoft 360 as our platform for delivering classroom materials and resources.

Our Year 7-9 Statement of Results for Semester One are now available on SEQTA for students and parents to view. I would encourage all to read these carefully and identify areas for improvement, along with areas to celebrate. The Statement of Results for our 10-12 students will be released in week 1 of Term 3.

We have much to be proud of at Notre Dame this term – our Reconciliation Assembly, the success of our interschool sporting teams, our Outdoor Education camps, Learning Walks, the Year 10 Art Exhibition and our Thailand Immersion that is currently underway, to list but a few. All these events and opportunities add positive experiences for our students and staff and bring a great sense of community.

As always , the end of a semester also brings about some teaching staff changes. At our Emmaus campus, we thank and farewell Mr John Cordedda as he returns to Bendigo, and Mr Michael Thomas as he moves to a position at St Luke's Primary School. At Knight St, we also thank and farewell Mr Trevor Goode as he moves onto St Mary’s of The Angels in Nathalia. Trevor has been the 10-12 Head of House for McGann for some time and has had an enormously positive impact on his students. Mr Jack Threlfall has taken on the challenge as the replacement Head of House.

We also welcome back from leave at the start of Term 3, our Deputy Principal Ms Jennifer Frisardi, and thank Mr Glenn Abblitt for his work in this role for the term. There are also new teaching staff to welcome to Notre Dame College – Mr Josh Preston and Mr Matt Bartlett have joined the Health/PE team, and Mrs Roneeta Sharma will join the Science team.

A reminder that we finish one hour earlier this Friday, 4 July. We wish all our students and staff a very restful and safe term break.

Have a great week everyone,

Emma Reynoldson

Acting Principal
