As a community, we are continually blessed by the opportunities we have to celebrate the talents, achievements and aspirations of our students, and this week has provided many examples of that in action.

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to our production team and the many students and staff involved in presenting The Addams Family. What an incredible achievement it was. The talent, dedication and passion demonstrated throughout the production was truly outstanding.

For those who attended the performances, I am sure you were in awe not only of the acting and musical performances, but also of the exceptional choreography, makeup, costumes and technical elements that brought the story so vividly to life.

Productions of this scale are the result of countless hours of hard work and collaboration, and everyone involved should be immensely proud of what they achieved. Thank you also to the families and community members who supported the production and helped make it such a memorable success.

This week has also seen our subject selection evenings taking place for students in Year 9 and above. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for parents and guardians to learn more about the pathways, opportunities and possibilities available to students as they progress through their secondary education. The decisions students make at this stage can have a significant impact on their future studies and career aspirations, and it has been wonderful to see families engaging thoughtfully in this important process.

In addition to the evening sessions, students have participated in information sessions at school, ensuring they have the knowledge and guidance required to begin planning their 2027 programmes. We encourage students to continue discussing their options with families, teachers and Pathways staff so that they can make informed choices that align with their interests, strengths and future goals.

At the beginning of the week, I had the privilege of attending the Marist Biennial Conference in Perth. The conference explored the theme of Pursuing Peace with Grace and brought together Marist educators from across Australia and beyond to reflect on our shared mission and values. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn from colleagues, deepen our understanding of Marist education and consider how we continue to foster peace, hope and compassion within our own community.
