This morning our College Community gathered to honour our fathers and father figures with our annual Father’s Day Breakfast.

Each year this is an opportunity for students to invite their fathers and father figures to our College to share a meal and sit and reflect on the important relationship of a child with their father. There were plenty of smiles and laughter as fathers chatted with each other and students were able to introduce their fathers to staff and friends.

It was a huge effort cooking bacon and eggs for nearly 200 people so we thank all those who were up early to volunteer with preparing this event.

This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day and celebrate the fathers and father figures in our own lives. For some of us these men are very much in our lives, for others the relationship may not be as strong and for many we reflect on our fathers and grandfathers who are no longer with us.

We continue to pray for all those great men who have been important role models in all of our lives and for all those who currently play the role of father to someone.

We also draw inspiration from St Joseph who had the ultimate task of being the earthy father to Jesus. In his own quiet manner he guided Jesus and provided for him in his early years.

St Joseph… Pray for us!

Have a great week,
