Congratulations and thank you to all our staff and students for the way we have commenced 2026. As I walk around both campuses at the College, I see intentional teaching, calm classrooms and engaged students.

The positive effects of our Early Commencement Programme really come to the forefront when we return from the holiday break. Our year 8 – 12 students had already experienced two weeks of their new classes and are well underway in the learning of their new subjects.

Yesterday we celebrated our first assembly for the year and welcomed our new Year 7 students as they proceeded into the stadium behind their house banners. I am sure it would have been a little daunting for them, but it is a tradition we have followed for many years. It will be 2031 when these students exit from their final assembly – that seems like a very long time away, but we know time passes all too quickly.

At the assembly, the College Captains spoke of our theme for the year – “Pursuing Peace With Grace”. They did an incredible job of this and you will find a copy of their speech in this newsletter.

We also presented our 2026 specialist leaders with their badges and they made their pledge to the College. I am very much looking forward to seeing what they can achieve in their respective areas this year.

Our year 12 Retreat happens this week, and I wish every student all the best for this and encourage them to get involved in the activities and discussions. Year 12 Retreats are memorable and for very many, bring clarity and direction for the year ahead and beyond. Many thanks to the years 10-12 Heads of House, the Faith and Ministry team and to the staff that are attending Retreat.
