College Opening Mass

On Thursday 26 February the College community came together to celebrate our College Opening Mass.

This is always a special occasion—a moment to pause, reflect, and set our intentions for the year ahead. We value the opportunity to come together in faith and unity as we formally welcome the new school year.

Our celebrant for Mass was Fr Ronald Masilang, Administrator of St. Brendan’s Parish, who blessed our leadership badges before presenting them to our Student Leaders. Our Student Leaders stood before the College community and made their Promise of Service;

"As we accept these positions of leadership, we promise to uphold the values embodied in our College Motto.

  • To Seek to find Jesus through the inspiration of Mary
  • To See the marginalised in our community, and
  • To Respond in the ways of Marcellin and Catherine

We will work together for the good of Notre Dame College and we will encourage all students to maintain the honour of our College at all times".

Thank you to all staff and students who were involved in the College Mass, it really is a very special event in the College calendar.

Daborra Day

Last Wednesday, our Emmaus campus held their Daborra day during lessons 3 to 6.

Year 9 students rotated through sessions about tent set-up, cooking on wokstar burners, how to pack, and a general talk about the Daborra program. They were even able to make hot chocolates with their wokstar burners and try on their backpacks.

This day is designed to give the students some basic skills for camping and familiarise themselves with some of the gear they will use while on Daborra.We wish them luck for their camp in a few weeks!

Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies

Grampians Coastal Camp

Outdoor learning engages students in practical and active educational experiences which take place in natural settings beyond the classroom. Through interaction with the environment, students foster a connection to the natural world, promoting wellbeing and sustainability of individuals, society and our environment.Our senior students had a fantastic time last week, surfing, bush walking, visiting the wind farm and learning more about the great outdoors!
