Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability.

The below letter outlines some important information for parents and carers:

Supporting Pathways and Future Planning

Helping Students Think About What’s Next

As students move through the school, they begin to think about future pathways.

Our data shows strong engagement in Years 10–12, with high levels of communication between school and families (for example, 978 communication records in Year 10 and 649 in Year 11).

This reflects the importance of these years in planning for the future. At the same time, patterns such as attendance and punctuality continue to play a role in how well students are prepared for senior pathways.

What this means for your child:

Building strong habits now supports future opportunities.

How you can support at home:

  • Talk about interests and strengths
  • Encourage exploration of different pathways
  • Attend information sessions
  • Support consistent routines

VCE Art Students Inspired at SAM

Our VCE Art Making and Exhibiting students recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) to experience the remarkable exhibition "Facing Modernity: Degas to Picasso".

The excursion gave students the opportunity to view original artworks by some of the world's most celebrated artists, including Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne and Pablo Picasso.

Seeing these works in person allowed students to appreciate the scale, techniques and rich history behind each artwork in a way that simply can't be experienced through textbooks or online images.

As part of their VCE studies, students explored how exhibitions are carefully designed and curated, examining the layout of the gallery, interpretive information, lighting and conservation methods used to protect these significant works.

They also gathered ideas and inspiration to support their own creative practice and Visual Arts Journals.

Notre Dame College values opportunities for students to engage with world-class exhibitions and connect their classroom learning with authentic experiences.

We thank the team at Shepparton Art Museum for providing such an enriching and memorable visit that will continue to inspire our young artists throughout their studies.

Year 11 Unit 3 & 4 Outdoor Environmental Studies (OES)

Year 11 Unit 3 & 4 OES students recently embarked on an alpine adventure!

They explored: Falls Creek (2-night camp)

- Bogong Village

- Lake Guy

- Hydro Electric Scheme

A fantastic opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences while enjoying the stunning Victorian High Country.

2027 Student Leaders Information Session

On Tuesday, 3 August, aspiring College, House, and Specialist Leaders in Year 11 attended the Student Leaders Information Session.

Some of our current House and College Captains were called up to speak about their experiences this year, sharing their favourite memories, challenges, and some advice for the students.

We also welcomed special guest speaker Darta Hovey, the Deputy Director of Mission and Educational Development at Catholic Education Sandhurst, who spoke about what leadership means to him and how the students can reach their fullest potential as leaders.

The session proved to be valuable for the students to see what is expected of them as leaders and gain more insight of what the positions entail.
