State Gymnastics

Notre Dame College students Hailey Gell (Yr 8), Jorja Sagoleo and Rachael Jeffers (both Yr 7), competed at the Junior Victorian State Gymnastics Championships in Parkville last weekend. The top 80 level 7 gymnasts from around Victoria qualified to compete for the state champion title.

These girls train incredibly hard, from 4pm-8pm, four nights a week, bringing their total training to 16 hours a week. As we can see, their hard work certainly pays off!

Jorja and Rachael both made the podium! Jorja placed 4th on floor, while Rachael was 5th on the uneven bars. Hailey performed strongly across all apparatuses.

Congratulations girls, what a great acheivement!!

Basketball

After winning the GMD Basketball Carnival held in May, NDC’s Year 8 and 9/10 Girls teams progressed through to the Hume Basketball Carnival held in Shepparton on 28 October.

The results were as follows:

Year 8 Girls

Final: NDC 25 were def by Catholic College Wodonga 52

The Year 8 Girls finished 2nd with the best players being Ruby Pickles, Reese Young and Stejsi Emin.

Year 9/10 Girls

Game 1: NDC 20 def Corryong 17

Game 2: NDC 47 def Mansfield 34

Final: NDC 13 were def by Catholic College Wodonga 38

The Year 9/10 Girls finished 2nd with the best players being Holly Reid, Lily Moffatt and Elliana Gray.

Volleyball

NDCs Year 7 Boys and Year 8 Girls Volleyball teams competed at the Hume Region Carnival held in Wodonga on 27 October.

The results were as follows:

NDC finished 3rd at the carnival with the best players being Aaron Abin, Brody Ralph and Sean Kelly.

Round 2 – Yarrawonga SC 2 sets def NDC 0 sets

NDC finished 3rd at the carnival with the best players being Lara Sawyer, Annaliese Gray and Lily Uluakiahoia.

Table Tennis

NDCs Year 7 and 8 Girls Table Tennis teams competed at the Hume Region Carnival in Wangaratta on 29 October.

Hume Cricket

On Wednesday, 5 November, our Year 7 Boys Cricket team represented Notre Dame College at the Hume Carnival in Wangaratta. The boys had a great day and displayed excellent sportsmanship.
